I recently attended the launch of a new group for UK podcasters organised by Mike and Izabela Russell of Music Radio Creative. UK Podcasters aims to be ‘a community for individuals who are invested in their personal and professional growth using the power of podcasting’.
The launch took the form of a meetup event which was held at the citizenM London Bankside hotel. This was a great opportunity to meet passionate podcasters and those with related business interests like myself.
I was fortunate enough to be interviewed by Mike Russell during the event. The subject was chosen pretty much off the cuff but developed into a discussion about podcasts that perhaps focus too much on interviewing others in the same or similar niches. I make the point that for podcasting to grow as a medium the focus needs to be on gaining interest from consumers as opposed to concentrating on other podcasters.
You can hear the interview here: www.ukpodcasters.com/uk-podcasters-london-meetup-review/ (my part starts at 23:19)
I hope you find my brief interview interesting. Please do leave me a comment and let me know your views on this subject.
You can find out more about the new UK Podcasters group on their website at www.ukpodcasters.com and if you are interested in joining then go to the Facebook group www.facebook.com/ukpodcasters (it is a closed group so you will have to ask to be added).
I will be writing more soon about the UK Podcasters as I have since attended another meetup, where the special guest was online entrepreneur Chris Ducker and I will also be attending the first UK Podcasters conference that is being held in August.
