Balancing Work And Location Independence
A goal of many aspiring Solopreneurs is to build a business that gives them location independence and perhaps even allows them to become a ‘digital nomad’.
A challenge that many Solopreneurs face is balancing the freedom that location independence gives them with the need to do the work that allows them to pay the bills.
So how can you address this? On a day to day basis many Solopreneurs will set a number of hours or time of day that they will work and then give themselves the freedom to take the rest of the day off to explore their current location or experience new adventures.
If you travel a lot it can be very difficult to maintain the discipline to allocate time consistently to work but you must do so. After all, you need to do the work to pay the bills!
My preference is to plan two weeks ahead. I will sit down with my calendar and plan the work I am looking to complete in the next fortnight and only then schedule in any travels or adventures that I want to do.
Over To You
If you already have a business that provides you with location independence, how do you balance work, travel and play? I would love to know your approach – why not leave me a comment sharing what you do.
