Grow Your Online DJ Audience and Fanbase With Blogging – Part 1

By Richard

Introduction

In order to succeed in any business, you must be able to get your message in front of your potential customers. Your message needs an audience, and that is going to be true regardless of what your business is. So, if you want to grow your online DJ audience and be more successful, this is for you.  Much of what is covered will also apply to radio hosts and podcasters.

In this series, I am going to discuss how to increase your audience by using the most popular blogging system on the Internet: WordPress. It is estimated that WordPress powers more than 25% of all the websites, both big and small, on the Internet, so you can be confident that it is a stable and reliable piece of software. And the price is certainly right. You can sign up for a free website and get started at: https://wordpress.com/start/website.

Of course, if you do choose a free site, you will have a website address that will not have strong branding elements (something like myblogname.wordpress.com), so I strongly suggest you purchase a new domain name for your blog (if you don’t already have one) and either use that address (see: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/ for details) or sign up for an account with a web hosting service and run your own WordPress installation using the free software available at wordpress.org (see: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more information).

The self-hosting option will give you much more control over your blog, although you will find that you have to put in a little more time and energy to keep it running.

Next Steps To Grow Your Online DJ Audience

So if you don’t have your own blog already, take some time now to complete this step and you will then be ready for the rest of this series where I start to discuss the best strategies to grow your online DJ audience through blogging.

In Part 2 I will look at how you can find your voice, knowing what to write about that will make your blog stand out from the crowd.
